Made a quick stop at Thornton State Beach after work tonight on the way home. There technically is a beach down there, but it’s a heck of a hike to get down to it. The view from on top of the bluffs is really nice though. Geologists think that the rugged area down below is a slump zone created by the 1906 San Francisco Earthquake. This picture is from the trail along the bluffs looking south. You can just make out San Pedro Rock in Pacifica in the background.
