Lake Metigoshe State Park is excited to host this camp as part of our summer series of Day Camps, which focus on environmental education and outdoor recreational skills.
The OHV Safety Certification & Ride Camp will start at 9am with some classroom time discussing safe practices and laws surrounding operating OHV's. Afterward, participants will be transported via 15-passenger vans to the Turtle Mountain State Recreation Area located about 6 miles NW of Bottineau, where they will go through a series of drills and obstacle course activities to practice and demonstrate safely operating an OHV. Then, participants will get the opportunity to go on a guided ride. A picnic lunch will be provided. In the afternoon, participants will return to the park where they will get some time at the lake! All participants are required to wear pants, long-sleeve shirts, good footwear (no open toes) and gloves. Participants should bring their own swimming trunks/suits.
Registration for the summer series of Day Camps opens May 1 at noon via https://bit.ly/LMSPShowClix. The cost is $40/participant per day; participants must be the described age at the time of camp. Participants can register for multiple camps within the summer series as different activities are planned for most camps.
Participation is limited so it is highly suggestion to register promptly.This camp starts at 9am; campers should be dropped off at the main office no earlier than 8:45am and picked up at 4pm.
To maximize their experience campers should bring a water bottle and should have wear bug spray and sunscreen. Snacks/lunch will be provided.
