Please join Indian River County Staff on October 1st from 9am-1pm to help us restore and maintain the native landscape at our Jones Pier Conservation Area, located at 7770 Jungle Trail, in Vero Beach, FL.

This unique project sits on a pioneer family homestead dating back to the early 20th century. The portion of the site abutting Jungle Trail includes the historic home, and is currently under renovation to become a volunteer building/ wet lab, a pavilion/ restroom, and a replica historic fruit stand. The centerpiece of the site is a 4-acre saltmarsh designed for wildlife habitat and water quality benefits.

The perimeter of the site has been planted and this volunteer day will focus on installing plants in the interior of the marsh and removing unwanted vegetation along the shoreline.

We will be offering a tour of the conservation area to share some of our other projects in progress on the site. We encourage you to bring snacks, drinks, and sunscreen. All tools will be provided. Wetland plantings will be planted in water that can be up to 18” deep, so please wear appropriate shoes. Parking is available on site– but space is limited to volunteers only.
