Description

Lindbergh Community Information

In 1927 the railway arrived in Lindbergh with its one story and made the community grow. By the 1950s, after the building of the Alberta Salt Plant 2 miles away it had 4 stores, a post office, a blacksmith, a community hall, a school, an elevator and was a bustling community, especially when the train came to town with the mail. Roads then were very sketchy to say the least.

Today the hamlet of Lindbergh is administered by the County of St Paul #19. In 2021 it had 50 residents and no services available to the general traveller. Postal delivery is in Elk Point. Students from the Lindbergh area are bussed to Elk Point Schools. In 2022 the Canadian Salt Plant announced that after almost 75 years they would decommission the salt plant costing the region about 60 jobs.
