Area
Cloverdale River Park runs along the west bank of the Russian River in northern Sonoma County. The 72-acre park features a paved, 1-mile trail through river habitat, a launch for kayaks and canoes, fishing access, and picnic sites.
This park is a beautiful spot for birding and wildlife viewing. Informational signs about riparian plants and animals are posted along the trail.
The most prominent plant community along the trail is the cottonwood tree, though you'll also notice California walnut, maple, buckeye and willow. Large coast and valley oaks are located near the trailhead in the parking area.
Benches and picnic tables are located along the trail. There is a restroom but no drinking fountain or lifeguard. The park is the only public, developed river access between Mendocino County and Healdsburg.
Paved, wheelchair-accessible trails and accessible group picnic areas.
The park opens at 7:00 a.m. and closes at sunset.
Permitted on leash no longer than 6 feet. License required.
No fires or barbecues allowed on beach.
There are currently no restrictions for swimming or paddling on the Russian River, but please be advised that potentially harmful blue-green algae may be present. Care should be taken to keep children and pets away from algae and from drinking river water. Read more.
$7 per vehicle for day use, or free for regional park members. $1 per person (vehicles with 10 or more people). No equestrian parking available.
