Monday - Saturday, 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. (hours extended to 12am on Fridays and Saturdays for scheduled events and rentals.) Sunday, 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Senior Center Hours:
Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
"The Center" is approximately 39,000 square feet and includes a banquet hall and kitchen, gymnasium/auditorium, arts/crafts room, activity and meeting rooms, conference rooms, dance/activity room, senior game room, senior library, senior citizen outreach offices, a community information counter, and administrative offices. The Community Center rental staff are eager to help you find the perfect room for your meeting or event, from large to small. The Center offers rooms anywhere from small conference rooms to our its beautiful 5,000 square foot Banquet Hall, the perfect venue for weddings and other large events. The Encinitas Community Center offers hundreds of classes annually. There's something for everyone. Typical classes are offered once or twice a week for 4-8 week sessions. No memberships are required. Please take a look at our current Parks and Rec Brochure for a complete listing of what's offered. Additionally, "the Center" is a great place to hang out, use Open Gym, relax and enjoy our comfortable lobby area and gym mezzanine, all with free, open wifi. Our facility is a County designated "Cool Zone" making it a great place to cool off in the hot summer weather. Stop on by! We look forward to meeting you.

The Encinitas Community and Senior Center is a purpose-built multi-generational facility, sharing many of its rooms for programs for tiny tots through older adults. The facility also houses the Encinitas Senior Center, with its own lobby, staff and facilities, all open to adults 50 and up. Typical programs offered at the Encinitas Senior Center include instructional classes, fitness groups, ample opportunities to socialize and participate in clubs, drop-in programs and to receive many valuable free and fee-based services.

The City of Encinitas Senior Center is proud to work with Essenco, Inc. the senior nutrition program provider as of July 24, 2019. Essenco, Inc. works with the City of Encinitas to ensure that seniors’ nutritional needs are balanced with an overall dining experience focused on quality, taste, variety and presentation. Essenco, Inc. prepares its own soups and sauces from fresh, natural ingredients and tries to minimize utilizing processed foods.
Suggested daily meal donation is $4 for Seniors 60+ with a $6 cost per meal for ages under 60. Reservations are required and can be made up until 9:00 a.m. of the day before you would like to have lunch, by calling (760) 943-2258. Check-in for lunch between 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Lunch is served at 11:40 a.m. We look forward to serving you!

The Encinitas Parks and Recreation Café is supported by the Older Americans Act Grant Funds, awarded through the County Aging and Independence Services and supported by the City of Encinitas and general meal donations. No eligible person shall be denied a meal because of failure or inability to contribute.
Park hours are 5am - 10pm unless stated otherwise. Beach parking and amenities hours are 5am - 10pm. Beach is closed 2am - 4am. Please no glass containers, polystyrene food containers or smoking allowed at City parks, beaches and trails. Dogs must be on a leash at all times unless otherwise noted.
All parks are available on a first come, first served basis. Special Event and Special Ceremony Permits are available for select locations (see specific site information below). The Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Department is responsible for a wide range of services for the City including recreation programs, city-wide special events, park, beach and recreational trail maintenance, management of open space, streetscape maintenance, animal services, and oversight of the administration of the Encinitas Ranch Golf Authority.
The Parks, Beaches and Trails Division is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all park, beach and trail facilities, including 10 miles of streetscapes, 82 acres of open space, 153 acres of both developed and undeveloped parks, 45 acres of beaches, and over 40 miles of trails. We hope that you enjoy getting out and exploring Encinitas’ trails and beautiful open spaces.
