Area
Bothe-Napa Valley State Park, which has been operated by the Napa County Regional Park and Open Space District since 2012, offers year-round camping, picnicking, hiking, and seasonal swimming.
Daytime visitors can bring a picnic basket and bottle of wine to enjoy in the leafy shade of our day use area. On hot summer days, bring a swimsuit and enjoy a dip in the park’s spring fed swimming pool. Over 10 miles of hiking trails among Redwoods, Maples, Oaks, and Madrones are available in this 1,900-acre park. The History Trail, which goes past a pioneer cemetery, connects Bothe with the Bale Grist Mill State Historic Park.
Overnight visitors can enjoy Bothe-Napa Valley’s campsites, yurts, and cabins year round. Bothe-Napa Valley has dry camping for RVs up to 32 feet and trailers up to 24 feet. At this time only the cabins have electricity.
Camping: Within the Ritchey Creek Campground, campsites 9, 37, and 42 are accessible. Generally accessible restrooms with showers are near all accessible sites. The campground has spacious roll-in showers with upper and lower shower heads, but controls are opposite the folding bench, so assistance may be needed to reach them. As an alternative, newer accessible restrooms with showers whose controls are on the wall adjacent to the folding bench are located a short drive away in the picnic area, and accessible parking is available.
Picnic Area
The day use picnic area includes 9 accessibly located and designed sites. An adjacent restroom with showers is accessible. The picnic area opposite the restroom has a shaded Ramada that is available for reservation for group use with accessible tables nearby.
Exhibits/Programs
A redesigned campfire center includes accessible seating and presentation area.
Swimming Pool: Open Memorial Day-Labor Day on Saturday & Sunday from 12 PM- 6 PM (Lifeguard on Duty)
A chair lift has been installed to enhance swimming access. Accessible parking is nearby. Accessible restroom and showers are within 200 feet of the pool at the picnic area.
Dogs are restricted to the camp and picnic areas and must be leashed. They are not permitted on the trails or in the pool area. Dogs may not be left unattended and must be inside a vehicle or tent at night.
