Description

Deer Springs Trail can take you to many locations within the Wilderness. The trailhead is located across Highway 243 from the Idyllwild Nature Center located at 25225 California Hwy 243 Idyllwild, CA.

Deer Springs to Suicide Rock is 3.3 miles with 1700' elevation gain. Extreme day hike, good overall view from Suicide Rock. NO WATER SOURCE. Recommended season: May- November.

Deer Springs to Mount San Jacinto Peak is 9.7 miles with 4500' elevation gain. Moderate two day hike. Recommended season: May-October.

This trail can be used to access all of the wilderness campgrounds within Mount San Jacinto Wilderness, but the two closest are Strawberry Junction (4.1 miles) and Little Round Valley (7.9 miles).
