Description

Following the Iditarod Historic Trail across the Knik Arm flats, the Wet Gulch trail features expansive views that make up for the high probability of wet feet.

Wet Gulch is accessible from the new Settler’s Bay Coastal Park as well as several other residential areas off of Knik-Goose Bay Road. The trail is marked by the Iditarod Historic Trail’s characteristic tripods, and in summer is silty, wet, and prone to flooding, but has unparalleled open views of the flats and mountains surrounding Tikahtnu (the Dena’ina name for Cook Inlet). In winter, the trail is used by snow machines and dog mushers.
