Goose Bay State Game Refuge Access

The Goose Bay State Game Refuge area is cris- crossed by ATV trails and remote roads. The non-motarized walking path is accessed via the un-signed "Cameo Drive", following signs for the walking path. The trail is a footpath and a meander through the woods, with blue trail markers along the way. 

This trail overlooks the beautiful flats of the refuge. One can see to Anchorage and the mountains beyond on a clear day. Abundant bird life makes this area a duck hunting destination in the fall, and a bird-watching attraction. In the late winter, the tidal flats can form a crust of snow making for great nordic skiing, walking and biking.
