Description

Coyote Creek to Coyote Canyon: This out and back trail starts at the Coyote Creek School park. Use the Alamo Creek trail and head South towards Bollinger Canyon Road. Once you have reached the main road, across the street will be the trail head for the Dougherty Ridge Trail. Proceed down the Dougherty Ridge trail for approximately 1 mile until you see the trail marker for the Coyote Canyon trail. Hiking out to the Coyote Canyon trail will give you great views of the Dougherty Valley Open space’s rolling hills and the City of San Ramon. Once you have reached the end of Coyote Canyon, head back to the Dougherty Ridge trail and continue back to the Coyote Creek School Park. This trail is an earthen path with hills, be sure to wear shoes with good ankle support. Hikers may encounter cattle on this trail, please review cattle grazing area safety tips in the San Ramon Trail System Rules & Etiquette.
