Wapehani Mountain Bike Park
Wapehani Mountain Bike Park (46.7 acres) is located at 3401 W. Wapehani Rd. off Weimer Road on the southwest side of Bloomington. The Park features nearly 5 miles of rolling single-track trails for mountain bike use and hiking on approx. 46 acres of wooded and grassy park land. Riders must wear helmets and use caution when navigating these mostly dirt trails. There are two main trail routes that loop around the park: Wapehani Green Loop and Wapehani Blue Loop, however inner trails allow users to change directions at several intersections.
The City of Bloomington Parks and Recreation has an easement to allow trail users to access segments of trail on private property. Please use caution when approaching trail intersections and remember the Rules of the Trail when visiting the park.
Wapehani Mountain Bike Park reopened in March 2019 following the successful removal of the Weimer Lake dam and the planting of more than 400 native trees in the former lake bed. Established in 1990, the park had been closed since July 2018 to allow for the transformation of the property. While the trail that crossed the top of the dam no longer exists, most of the trails are again usable for mountain bikers. A replacement East Connector trail is being constructed to reconnect the (southern) Wapehani Blue Loop trail and (northern) Wapehani Green Loop trail on the eastern side of the park.
