Description
Olcott Park (41.1 acres) is located at 2300 E Canada Dr.
Playground: Accessible playground with equipment for older and younger children. The playground at Olcott Park reopened over the Memorial Day weekend, after the installation of new rubber surfacing, which required consecutive days of warm, dry weather for installation and curing. The playground had been closed since fall 2020 due to the buckling of the previous surfacing.
Olcott Loop Trail: This .5-mile, accessible looping trail skirts the Olcott playing fields and crosses briefly through a small wooded area. One trailhead is located at the parking lot of Jackson Creek Middle School and the other trailhead is located at the Olcott Park parking lot.
Parking Areas: Large parking area, 20+ spaces including wheelchair accessible spaces
Play Fields: Reservable multi-purpose play field. For reservation information, contact Dee Tuttle at 349-3762.
Restrooms: Available seasonally in the restroom/concessions/storage building
Shelters: The Young Pavilion is located near the restroom building and playground. This round pavilion can accommodate up to 50-75 people. It is wheelchair accessible and comes equipped with picnic tables and a group grill, but has no lights or electricity. The Young Pavilion rents for $63/day on weekdays, and $78/day on weekends and holidays. Restrooms are located nearby.

History of Olcott Park
Olcott Park was purchased from Southside Landholding Company in August 1998. Lloyd and Joan Olcott gifted to the Bloomington Parks and Recreation Department enough money to build a playground, park shelter (Young Pavilion) and limestone entrance wall with landscaping. The park was officially named Olcott Park in a ceremony on June 2, 2000.
